	TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION CERTIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FLYING ARMED COURSE We currently offer the TSA certified LEO flying while armed course. In order to fly armed the law enforcement officer must meet the following requirements. Be a federal law enforcement officer or a full-time municipal, county, or state law enforcement officer who is a direct employee of a government agency. Authorized by the agency to carry a firearm. Has a need to fly armed. Has completed the TSA LEO Flying While Armed Course. This course is Law Enforcement Sensitive FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does completion of this training allow me to carry a firearm onboard the aircraft in an off-duty or vacation status? No, completion of this training is a requirement for all LEOs who need to fly armed and does not exempt anyone from the additional regulatory requirements specified in Section 219. Can non-LEOs complete this training and then be permitted to fly armed? This training is intended for law enforcement only and should be treated as sensitive information. LEOs may receive this training without having an identified need to fly armed but only LEOs may fly armed aboard commercial aircraft. Bail bondsmen, "bounty hunters," private security, prisoner extradition contractors, and off-duty officers working in those categories do not meet the requirements for flying armed.
